Dear OBers,

Here are the numbers of the count of cranes at Izumi, on Kyushu Island of
southern Japan on 8 January 2005:

Hooded Crane 9,432
White-naped Crane¡¡2,397
Sandhill Crane 3
Eurasian Crane 2
Demoiselle Crane 1
Red-crowned Crane 1
Eurasian x Hooded hybrid 3

Total 11,839

The most unusual record is a juvenile Red-crowned Crane. The last record of
Red-crowned Crane at Izumi was December 1967.
