Short report from Lake Kvismaren, central south Sweden:

This summer we had unexpectedly numbers of cranes. Instead of expected
300-400 there were 500-600 during May and June, increasing to 700 and 1000
during July and rapidly increasing to 2000 during August and last Wednesday
September 7th we count 4400 leaving three roosting places.

Almost all crop of wheat and barley are harvested and there is plenty of
stubble-fields with shelled corn.
