Cranes in Estonia

Dear cranefriends,

It is a pleasure to me inform you about nice numbers of autumn staging
cranes in Estonia in 2006. The counting period lasted from 11 to 24
September with central counting days on 18, 19, and 20 September. The
preliminary total number for Estonia was 44 000 cranes, a new record for
us. The mos important staging areas were Matsalu (19 400 cranes), Haapsalu
Bay (7300), Saaremaa (6000), Lahemaa (5400), Hiiumaa (3500) and SE-
Estonia (2000).
