Dear cranefriends,

At the SCWG meeting in April we have decided to try some changes about handling
of re-sightings of ringed cranes. We are very glad and grateful about all the
observations of ringed cranes which you provide us with. These observations are
important so that we all can learn more about cranes. However, we realised that
it has become too much the work to handle for one person doing it voluntary.
Personally I feel, after a long time trying and thinking, that I need time and
energy for other things in live like a “normal” job. And also to have fun
with cranes!

So we decided to share the work more within the ringers of the SCWG. We want to
try the following system. From now on the ringers will answer about their cranes
by themselves to the observers.
That means for you;

1. You send your reports about ringed cranes from Sweden to the co-ordinator of
the SCWG, that’s me, like you did before. It is important that ALL reports of
ringed Swedish cranes will be gathered in the archive at the co-ordinator.

2. I distribute the observations to the concerned ringers.
(The colour system for the different regions within Sweden you find below).

3. The different ringers will get in contact to you with questions and answer
with the live histories.
Sigvard Lundgren for cranes ringed in Tranemo.
Clas Hermansson for cranes ringed at Hornborga and Tåkern.
Simone Röper for cranes ringed in Västerbotten.

Simone Röper for cranes ringed by Mikael Hake and Daniel Green in Västmanland
– for now.

We hope for your understanding about our new organisation of the this work and
we are looking forward to your observations.

Kind regards from all of us,

Simone Röper
