Objet : [guzzi750] Paul from Motomecca's S3 for sale on Ebay

Paul from Motomecca (UK Guzzi spares specialist) is selling his S3 on UK Ebay - he's owned it for donkey's years and knows the bikes inside out too. On at £6,500 and one bid..

Sorry not to have been around here much, just become a new dad a few days ago and haven't got 2 minutes to sleep let alone switch on the Mac. What an experience though!!

Excellent, I'll order a pair. Of course, I'll need to modify the retaining/sealing collar at the head end to fit my T3 heads.

Best regards

Hi david,

the only modifications i did was to cut the length down and reduce the diameter where they fit inside the 37 mm balance pipe.
now if you already have a 38 mm balance pipe they should fit.

cheers,

i think it was from MTR ricambi ( they are intended for the V7, you will need a hacksaw to make them fit a V7sport)
i have those on my V7sport.
i actually had to think of a way to reduce the 38 mm diameter to 37 mm to be able to use them with the original cross box.
if anybody wants to do the same, i've got a tool now to do that job.

Would anyone be interested in coming in with me on getting a batch of exhaust down-pipes made to the right shape for the V7 Sport and T3 models? We could overcome the screw-in verses studs problem by having the collars made and supplied un-welded so we could make up the right sort to suit demand. I think we'd need to get a minimum of 5 pairs made and they'd work out at about £140-50 GBP a pair.

Great tip from Damian and I'd forgotten about it, but I've had both the S3, T3
and a V7 Special 'run out of petrol', only to find it was the vent hole in the
filler cap blocked. Stick a pin and clean it out and the bike will run again,
strange but true..

I typed the wrong way round I meant throttle not revs. Sorry.

Anyway, hate to harp on about it but if your fuel filler vent isn't working that
will cause lack of fuel and breakdown.

The only good way to check the fuel system upstream of the carbs is, as I said,
disconnect at carbs open one tap at a time with the fuel cap closed and run the
fuel into a bucket. Let it run a while and observe good flow. If it doesn't run
like a tap you should investigate.

Also remember depending on which taps you've got there are screens in them and
small orifices both of which can block.

Not saying it's that, but it's easy to eliminate and costs nothing but a little
time.
