changes - women's rights, civic rights and even democracy itself in many
places can be said to be result of direct action.

Climate change is the most urgent challenge we've ever faced - and yet
instead of serious sustainable solutions we see new runways and new coal
fired power stations. Are you interested in doing more to highlight the

**CARBON TRADING WORKSHOP**
with Kevin Smith (Carbon Trade Watch) and including a screening of 'The
Carbon Connection' Monday June 22nd, 7-9pm, at BASH, 65-71 Scrutton
Street, London EC2

When world leaders negotiate a new climate agreement this December, they
will promote one solution above all others: carbon trading. The EU already
has its own carbon trading system; in the US, Obama is working hard to
push a 'cap-and-trade' system through Congress. But what is carbon
trading? What is the theory behind it? How does it work in practice? And,
most importantly, will it help us avert climate chaos?

Discover the truth behind carbon trading in a unique workshop organized by
the Camp for Climate Action. Kevin Smith (Carbon Trade Watch) will give a
critical perspective on market-based solutions to climate change. There
will also be a screening of the documentary 'The Carbon Connection',
showing the real impacts of carbon trading on local communities, and
plenty of time for questions and discussion. Come along to talk, listen,
learn - and find out how you can take action for social justice and
against climate change.
