We are still looking for young people to perform at this afternoon event
in August.
PlayDay still have spaces on the live stage for local charities,
community groups, schools, individuals and of course faith groups in
Hackney and Tower Hamlets wishing to promote their organisation to a
mixed audience of parents, schools, service users, funding organisations
and potential partners.

Hackney & Tower Hamlets PlayDay 12-4 pm Wednesday 2nd August 2006
Fuzzy People are organising a small performance stage for The Hackney &
Tower Hamlets PlayDay in Victoria Park.
Last year 5000 children, parents, residents and sponsors attended the event.
This year we are anticipating many more guests and an exciting blend of
blend of activities, events and entertainment for children, which will
include a diverse range of music, singing, theatre, dance, performance
and live music.
We are looking for schools, community groups and voluntary organisations
working with young people who would like to act, sing, and dance,
vocalise, read poetry or DJ on the main stage.
Interested adult performers should be willing to offer short workshops,
which would ideally culminate in a short performance with the
participants on the day.
Performance themes
"Awareness of other cultures" seen through the eyes of young people or
reflected through personal experience.
Play: How do children in different communities play and why is it important?
Theme based upon curriculum, enrichment schemes or gifted and talented
programme.
Paralympics and Olympics, mixed media, dance, theatre, poetry, story
telling or oral history, visual art, music or singing.
Turkish Folk Music the use of Steel Pan, Drumming, and African & Latin
instrumentation are particularly welcome.
Performances should be 10/15 minutes in duration.
PlayDay is being organised by the Hackney Play Association a charitable
organisation and play development agency working to improve children's
play in Hackney.
