Ceramics in the City 2006
Date: 22 - 25 September
Venue: Geffrye Museum
Come and visit this three-day ceramics fair, featuring the work of 47
potters. Talk to the artists, watch demonstrations and bring the kids
for some craft activities.
Pot-tastic!
For the fifth year running this eclectic showcase of ceramics comes to
the Geffrye Museum.
Discover many different styles and techniques adopted by individual
artists to create work that ranges from tableware and lamps to more
decorative pieces. You'll also have the chance to talk to the potters
and watch them in action during free demonstrations.
Children can take part in craft activities throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Exhibitors
Well-established names will be on show alongside new talents that have
been selected by a panel of judges including Marina Vaizey, former art
critic for The Times.
Exhibitors include Karen Bunting, whose pots are thrown and then further
refined and painted and Clare Crouchman who draws from naturally
repeating patterns found in the environment. Crouchman¡¯s pieces go
through a series of transformational processes.
Ceramics in the City is part of the London Design Festival 2006, which
takes place 15-30 September.
