GILLETT SQUARE LAUNCH EVENT
10th November
A fantastic new music project developed by Serious International Music
Producers, Hackney Co-operative Development's and The Vortex Jazz Club
is about to commence which requires the talents of 200 saxophonists of
all ages and abilities.
Andy Sheppard's Dalston Saxophone Massive is an exciting live event,
which will provide the opportunity to play with the legendary UK
saxophonist and composer Andy Sheppard as well as his collaborators -
conductor and multi-instrumentalist Orphy Robinson, alto saxophonist
James Morton and baritone saxophonist Tony Kofi.
Andy Sheppard's Dalston Saxophone Massive will be performed at 6pm on
Friday 10 November 2006 and will celebrate the opening of Gillett Square
in Dalston as well as being part of the London Jazz Festival in
association BBC Radio 3.
Serious, Hackney Co-operative Developments, and The Vortex Jazz Club are
working together to recruit 200 saxophonists who will be available to
rehearse and perform in October and November 2006. Serious and The
Vortex are joined by their vision for live music presentation in the
fields of jazz, world and new music, and our commitment to artistic
excellence is coupled by the desire to make our music and projects
accessible to the widest possible audience.

Andy Sheppard's Dalston Saxophone Massive.
AGE- NO LIMIT!
We require saxophone players of all ages and abilities.
Participants should be able to travel independently to the rehearsal
space and other venues as required within the Dalston area.
If you are under the age of 18 we will require written consent from a
parent/ guardian that you have permission to attend rehearsals and the
final performance.
PASSION AND INTEREST IN MUSIC
We are delighted to be part of the opening of Gillett Square in Dalston
on Friday 10 November 2006, and are looking for musicians who are
focused and passionate about playing the saxophone and who are
interested in playing with UK saxophonist Andy Sheppard.
BE COMMITTED!
We'll need you to sign an agreement so we know you really want to be
involved. This is also tells you that we take you seriously and value
the commitment you are making to us. Although not legally binding, it is
a professional contract outlining what you are committing to and what we
will give you in return.
WHAT YOU WILL GET IN RETURN
You will get to be part of a historic event, as the Mayor of London and
Mayor of Hackney are scheduled to attend.
You will get to play with Andy Sheppard one of the leading saxophonists
from Britain, and also have the pleasure of rehearsing and playing with
some of the most talented UK musicians, James Morton and Tony Kofi and
conductor/facilitator Orphy Robinson.
HOW OFTEN AND WHEN ARE THE REHERSHALS?
There will be 4 rehearsals, which you will be expected to attend, and
one final performance at Gillett Square. It is always important that you
are always on time and bring your instrument with you.
How to apply

size photograph with your name written on the back of the photo.
