Here is where we touch base, get the info, get the vibe, break some Poppy Seed bread, come and go, in peace, Love and Light.

 

Poppy Seed is where poetry meets song'. The act has been described as  a "cut between Eryka Badu and Sade" and "a Breeze of her own"; Poppy Seed 's original music crosses genres to embrace Jazz, Soul, R&B, African Roots, Rock, Reggae and pop influences which enhance the themes of her poetry. The lyrics are socially and environmentally aware, conscious and easy to listen to.

Poppy Seed is 'Compelling and Inspiring'. 'A natural high'.

 

 

 

 

 

Upstanding we are for International Woman's Month! Even though every day is an International woman's day; A day when most women feel that they have been all over the world!

 

This month Poppy Seed will definitely be profiling; coming through London Town performing, networking, celebrating, sharing, and acknowledging the contributions of phenomenal women everywhere.

 

The month of March also marks the start of POPPY SEED embarking on a major project comprising of a host of collaborative ventures.

Starting with Mothers day Sunday 2^nd March, 11.00AM, Poppy Seed Lecture, and PA performance at Rosslyn Hill Unitarian Chapel, (3 Pilgrims Place, London NW3  1NG Directions: From Hamstead tube, turn left down High St, 7min walk down Rosslyn Hill. Gateway entrance to chapel). In a tribute to Motherhood. Having lost her beloved mother 7 months ago this is a particularly poignant appearance that has a personal resonance, and perspective.

 

 

Saturday 8^th  March - all roads lead to Capital Woman event; www.london.gov.uk/capitalwomen  A great opportunity for a 'Got it going on' girly day out – spreading some light amongst each other, exchanging ‘haven't seen you in ages’ screams and some serious networking; Poppy is visiting not performing unfortunately!

Topped up with a dose of Angela Davies ; and I'm sure follow on ideas will present themselves!

Sat 15th March – Festival of Black Female Voices – Presented by Black Women in the Arts BWIA), 

www.blackwomenart.org.uk at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Approach Rd,Tottenham Green, N.15. 4RX. Poppy Will  be passing through doing a PA; Come, support the sisters! Network at the event and take in some fine UK Black Female Talent!

 

As some of you know Poppy Seed lectures at Waltham Forest college; All lectures during this Month will naturally have a topical tinge!
