Welcome to Shoreditch Festival 2008

Happening in Hackney!

From 16 to 24 August 2008, Shoreditch Trust presents a wonderful
programme of cultural and physical activities in and around
Shoreditch Park as the Shoreditch Festival returns this year with two
themes: sports and arts.

We're also thrilled to be working with Lift, formerly London
International Festival of Theatre, to introduce The Lift: an
innovative and stunning portable arts venue which will be based in
Shoreditch Park throughout the Festival. Shoreditch residents will be
entitled to a special rate at all ticketed events in The Lift.

We celebrate our borough with the first Tour de Hackney. Showcasing
the best of Hackney in its first ever mass-participation cycling
event, residents will have the chance to enjoy the borough's green
spaces and explore the cycle routes from their bicycle saddles.

And we celebrate the moment London takes up the Olympic flag at
Hackney Handover happening at the Shoreditch Festival! Sunday, 24
August marks the beginning of London's journey as the host city for
the 2012 Games. Hackney welcomes the Games with events for everyone
to enjoy in Hoxton Street and Shoreditch Park.
