Thanks John. 3-1/4" minus 1/8" for the wrapper gives 3-1/8" for the width of the throatplate. Making a 3-1/16" hole in this would leave the flanges only 1/32"

... Oooh, careful - assuming you're leaving the back to back wheel dimension the same, then all of the extra width of the frames needs to be accomodated
