David,
I personally like the new look, as it allows offline posting, I hated having
to be logged in and paying for the connection time whilst typing in my
message. The new look also matches my other groups, I`m on loads! When I
posted the BigBoy messages, (yahoo groups only allowed short messages, so it
wouldn't fit in one message!), I copied it from a word doc to save online
time!
We should now be able to post any possible type of file to the files
section, so long as someone else has a program to view that file he will be
able to read it, ie, if I post my AutoSketch drawings, you would need to
have AutoSketch to view them, same for such as AutoCAD and TurboCAD.
If everyone that uploads files puts them in the FILES section and puts
photos in the PHOTOS section we would make best use of the space that Yahoo
have 'given' us. Some groups that I`m on fill the files space with lots of
photos then complain when the folder has reached its capacity! A lot of the
American guys also post huge files, they have fast connections so dont have
to bother with making files small, this does eat up the server space rather
quickly.
Simon
