I did go and view a Fayette offered on ebay, it was a product of the
1930's, I think it was made when standards were not like they are
today. With poorly fitted axleboxes and coupling rods, it was very
free running, I think it would turn on 5 psi; But how it would run
under steam with so much lost motion I cannot imagine!
It had a reserve of £750!!, with bits hanging off it, it was an ugly
sight and would need a lot of TLC!. It did not make its reserve
(£675) so it may not have sold, I wonder where it ended up?
