I agree completely David, but then they are probably all cheap
compared to the true cost of making a new one. I bought parts for a
Carson LNWR Experiment from e-bay which many would have felt was very
expensive. Half of it was missing (like the boiler, tender ...!),
but I happen to have the mortal remains of another including all the
missing parts, which makes the project financially viable.
I suspect many of these unfinished projects remain unfinished for
ever.
Sometime ago somebody on this site asked about the availability of
commercial handrail stanchions. I suggested he try GRS, but were
there any other replies? I need some myself now (for the Carson
Experiment!).
