Re: Southern Maid

David

I don't like to get too commercial on a hobby site, but have you considered
having the parts waterjet cut. I would be happy to give you a quote. 5 - 10
is a good number but we also do 1-offs. Quite a few under our belt now,
Gauge 1 to 15".
If interested please email me at ian@.... If you need our address
you can get it from our web site www.sciss.co.uk
I am a member of the 2 1/2" Gauge Association and the RMMES

The price for the frames and horns looks to be a good one, the 2 boilers is
not a bad price (£400 each) so long as they meet the new regs for
commercially made pressure vessels. Many years ago Tich and Juliet boilers
were £200+

I am anticipating about £15-20 for a pair of frames and 6 6mm laser
cut horns. Any takers?

I was quoted £800 for two Dairymaid boilers, ouch! (I let it go)

David,

If you could get rods & valve gear etc done in the same way, it's starting
to sound interesting.
What size batch are you needing ?

On a different note, does anyone have patterns (or supply castings) for one
of the LBSC GWR 0-6-0PT designs (Pansyette,Speedyette or 1695) ?

Simon.

I don't need a batch size as such, but i was thinking about 5 pairs
as a good size, 10 would be better, but I doubt if there would be
that many takers as the Asociation is going to produce LBSCs Aeysha
frames etc laser cut.
The figure of 5-10 makes a worth while batch, when thinking about
coupling rods etc as this is a small order for a cutting firm.

I need to learn about CAD to get a .dxf file for these items, and
thought i'd put out 'feelers' whilst trying to produce these files.

Any takers for producing CAD drawings?

David.
