Is there anybody out there as it seems to have been very quiet.
If there is anyone out there then maybe some one could help with a
small problem. Last year i put a question on this site regarding
converting my Dyak to run on gas. I receieve a couple of very good
replies which i followed up.
I purchased a ceramic burner unit from Cheddar Models with a
regulator and gas tank. I have fitted it in place of the ash pan as
instructed but i`m having great difficulty in getting steam pressure.
I have tried with and without a blower fitted to the chimney. but
have better results with the blower. I have fitted a temp probe down
the chimney and into one of the tubes. With the blower running i
reach a temp of 260 deg C in the tubes, the water starts to steam and
after a while the engine will run for about a minute. However i still
cannot gain enough pressure to raise the gauge. I have pressure
checked the gauge and it`s ok.
Can anyone give me any idea what the temp should be running through
the tubes and in the fire box. I am using a mixture of Propane/Butane
and the regulator passes about 1.8 Bar. I know it`s difficult to know
what is happening without seeing the engine but i`m stuck.
Best Regards
Mick
