Hi All
Many thanks for the help with this problem. I had a afternoon on her
on Sunday with good and bad results. The good being that by closing
one of the air holes in the burner nozzle i got a lovely cone flame
which steamed her up alot more than i`ve had her so far. I also
increased the gas pressure by adjusting the gas regulator as per
instruction from Cheddar Models.
The bad being that i noticed an increase of steam from the chimney
pushed up by the compresser i use as a blower. When a small amount of
pressure appeared on the gauge she started running,(as i`d left her
in forward gear). she was unresponsive to the regulator to stop
her, although she could run faster. This led me to believe the
regulator was passing and this would acount for the pressure not
building. I`ve now dismantled the boiler from the frames and removed
the regulator and sure enough it`s face is pitted so i`m now away to
build a new one. I shall also be running up the boiler out of the
frames and with the regulator blanked to set the gas burner up. I`ll
keep the list informed with the progress as i think thats the best
way to use the list, for people to share their progresses and
therefore gain experience.
Best Regards
Mick
