Well guys
Here`s another update from the cold North. After the problems with
the firing and test running of my Dyak, i stripped her down to remove
the regulator and test fire the boiler with all but the safety valves
and pressure gauge blanked. This proved to be a sucessful test as the
burner brought here up to 80 psi within 15mins(with the fan blower
attached to the chimney) she held pressure nicely for as long as the
gas lasted. The next test will be with the engine`s own blower
reconnected to check it`ll run ok with out being fan assisted.
The next problem to over come is vthe regulator which is needed to be
replaced.(should have done this before building her up but have to
put it down to experience). I`m opting for a Martin Evans design
which is fitted in his Rob Roy. This is a needle valve type which
after rescaling from 31/2" to 21/2" will fit lovely. Well we`ll see
how it goes. I`ll test her before rebuilding her this time.
Watch out for the next thrilling update.
Best Regards
Mick Walton
