Re: Ayesha arises

Hi Rich,

Presumably that will be the idea as reprints of the original articles
are available from the Association.

There is a page on the Association website about the Ayesha project
but it seems to have become 'orphaned', at least I can't find a link
to it from any other page. The address is

http://www.users.waitrose.com/~n25ga/ayeshaproj.htm

Apparently the original Ayesha built by LBSC is different to the
Ayesha described in the ME articles, for example the original only had
frames 1/16" thick.Presumably LBSC 'beefed' up the design for the ME
version.

The frames etc. for the new Ayesha will be water jet cut, not laser as
I said before. There were a few sets for sale at the Rugby 'do' in May
so it shouldn't be long before everything is available. I shall
certainly be building one I think. I took a few photos of the
prototype running at Rugby and the second chassis(in the Rugby folder
in the photo section).

John

Model Engineer magazine (No 4256) had an article by Tony Weale about Ayesha revival by 2 1/2" gauge society. I got all excited :-) thinking that this was the...

I don't think there is any intention to run a construction series in Model Engineer for the new Ayesha. Plans, castings and laser cut frames will be available...
