The Little Engines locomotives might bear some resemblance to the
drawings being sold on eBay, but they are not the same, based upon
bore and stroke specifications and major elements of boiler design.
Little Engines' 2.5" gauge locomotives were designed by Martin
Lewis, founder of Little Engines, before the war and described in
the Model Craftsman magazine. They used slide valve cylinders
disguised as piston valves. After Mr. Lewis passed away, the company
was operated by his wife for many years and has since changed hands
and organization many times.
