Toby is an amazing engine.
When Steve (Toby is Steves son) first made it, I looked upon it as inferior
to a Tich, I'm sure it is actually smaller than a Tich. When I was invited
to drive it, actually driving it (Erewash track I believe) was a humbling
experience, the design is first class. It zipps along and makes lots of
steam, the boiler is sort of half size Sweat Pea, ish! All in 1/16" copper.
I thoroughly recommend it as a beginners loco in 2 1/2" gauge. Cheap and
simple to build, and it works when built. There were a few mistakes on the
drawings but they were corrected, the sheet with the wheels on was wrong,
something to do with using CAD and some scaling altered the attached
dimensions. If I knew where my set of drawings were I'd check!
