Re: [Half inch live steam forum] Helen Longish - progress so far

Shame I couldn't get to my local rally, working shifts can be a pain.
I've not heard of SF40, 24 and 55 are what I've got + some EF#2. I bought 50
sticks of the stuff the guy sells on homeworkshop.org. Not used any yet,
claimed to be JM SF55. 3x1mm sticks 600mm long, 50 sticks for £82 posted.
Sounded too good to miss as I have a 7 1/4" Dart boiler to do. I picked up
all the copper (mostly 4mm) for £185, weighs in at 35kg.
I have lots of good quality firebricks, the soft yellow ones (from work!)
and I can get lots (and lots) of ceramic blanket also from work. These
together with oxy propane should make a big (ish) boiler easy.
Simon
ps, the website and your workmanship are a great advert for the gauge, it
ought to be advertised more, but that would possibly put your bandwidth
through the roof!
