National 2.5" gauge Association's page of Loco Designs
Hi there All,There a design for a 2.5" gauge bullied pacific on the market,
though not maybe quite what you were after. If one goes to the web page for the
UK's national 2.5" gauge
association...http://www.n25ga.org.uk/then there is a
link to a page of locotive
designs...http://www.users.waitrose.com/~n25ga/Locos/index.htm...and on this
page, listed under Southerm Railway is...Lyme Regis Bulleid WC 4-6-2 Chris
Barron, Loco Design CoThere is even a link taking you to a page of more details
about the
design...http://www.users.waitrose.com/~n25ga/Locos/lyme.htmI have not
purchased from Chris, but I have had correspondance with him over a design for
the LNER P1 which he was working on, and he came across as a helpful bloke. There
is also the web page for the gauge 3 society (also 2.5" gauge) out
there...http://www.gauge3.co.uk/...which may also have some useful
info.Yours,Rich.On Fri, 21 Dec 2007, Charles Mortimer wrote:>>> hallo john>
thanks for returning so quickly appreciated i had thought it might be the case
drawings are very difficult to source for the merchant navy class 4-6-2 bullied
i thought i might stand more chance in UK i do have some basic measurements of
the full size engine from there i managed to put all that down on the drawing
board i have a lot of pictures that i down-loaded of the net which gives me a
good idea of what goes where i thought if i could get a plan view of the engine
that would give me some idea of setting out the valve gear and reversing shaft
also i am allowing a bit extra distance between the driving wheals to get the
braking system in which is a bit of a funny set up i don't have any information
on Ariel,,,,,, been away from miniature engineering and just starting back into
the hobby the only information that i have is what i can get of the computer in
this country if you want to get stuck into 2.1/2" gauge i am afraid there is
limited information and you are on your own hence my message yesterday i will
muddle through the drawings with my pencil and rubber the bullied is being built
alongside a 9f 2-10-0 3.5 gauge i have lbsc book for that one and i can glean
enough information from the book with out using drawings....... if any one has
information it would be gratefully received photo copied or even down loads
would be good the plan is to use ball races in the axles and these days there is
some very miniature ball-races around ,,,,,,,,, nice job on the Helen longish
kept me up half the night very interesting thanks for your reply john and i
shall live in hopes that some gentleman in U.K. can supply me with some
information,,,> Charles in Australia>>> ----- Original Message -----> From: John

The only design I personally know of is 'Ariel' which is a> 5" gauge version by

fails you could perhaps scale this down to> 2½", making allowances for the
different frame widths etc.>> John>>>>>> [Non-text portions of this message have
