Francis,
I have heard about your project, and it sounds exciting - good luck to you.
These are the standards published by the Gauge 3 Society
http://lakes-pages.com/gauge3.co.uk/technical.html
I would be interested to know whether the N2.5GA has standards, and whether
they are different.
There is a third standard to consider - when Slaters (courtesy of GRS)
entered the market they made their own standards. These are very similar to
those of the Society except that the wheel width is 1mm less. This is not a
fixed dimension anyway as the Society's standards state it is a "minimum"
and real practice also varied, with locomotives generally being wider than
rolling stock. My point is that many thousands of these Slaters wheels have
now been sold, so by definition they are a "standard".
An informed debate would be useful, with the eventual aim of standardisation
across the scale.

Subject: [Half inch live steam forum] Definative details for the tyre
profiles of 2 1/2" standard Gauge
Gentlemen
I am new to the group but wish to immediately seek assistance.
I am producing 3D models for the quality casting of wheels sets for a BR
standard 9F. These are to be investment cast in a gunmetal with a machined
steel tyre.
Unfortunately I do not have the dimensional details of the final form of the
tyre in this gauge. Can any one provide a drawing?
The final details of the wheels will be published to this group in the files
area
Best regards
Francis Leach
