Yeah, no problems with flooding - we're too high
here, but the wind blew a load of tiles off my
neighbours roof into the back of my car. just what I need
first thing on a Monday morning.

I do remember
the Great Storm of 87 though - I was still living in
Harrow, and working for Marconi in Stanmore. I was
driving up Stanmore Hill when I came across a whopping
great tree fallen half way across the road. I stopped,
waiting for a gap in the traffic going the other way so I
could go, but no joy. After about ten minutes of this,
with half the cars in London queuing behind me (the
other half driving the other way) I got out of the car
and physically stopped the line of cars going the
other way and waved my line through. And do you know
what? The selfish sods behind me, who would still be
sitting in that queue now, would not let me in to go!
London drivers eh?
