Somebody reminded me today that the Target at
shaftesbury circle was once called the Bird's Nest...I had
completely forgotten. Did any of you ever go there? I was a
regular for a time, especially when the club was known as
the Target.<br>I also remembered that a boy called
Alan Johnston was killed coming home from there. I
can't remember all the details, but I think his car was
hit by a 140 bus. Anyway, he went to St.Anselms and
would have been a year or so ahead of me. Very
sad...This must have happened around 1981/1982...I'm not
sure what secondary school he had attended...St.Greg's
maybe?<br>When you are young, you believe you are invincible and
it's very hard to accept one of your peers has died.
<br>Do any of you remember Martin Clancy's tragic death?
I'm still haunted by that. I would have been about 17
or 18 years old at the time. I think his funeral was
the saddest thing I've ever had to attend. St.Josephs
was just packed to the hilt. <br>Sorry to be so
