All just found this site and enjoyed trawling
through it. I was actually born in 58 so not sure if I
qualify to be on here. My memories go back to having
first pint (of brown ale because the barman asked an
awkward question when I asked for a pint, he said a pint
of what and that was the first thing that came to my
mind)in the Goodwill when I was about 14. Going up the
Tithe Farm on Sunday nights (still drinking brown ale)
to see various groups like Ducks Deluxe, Ace who had
a chart single with how long, Kilburn and the
Highroads featuring Ian Drewry etc.<br>Disos at The
whittington in Pinner (by this time I had graduated to lager
and Lime)in 73/74. The Birds Nest, the Oldfield in
Sudbury, the Target in Northolt (now a drive through
Macdonalds). Used to go in the Gateway sometimes, but ended up
in the Headstone which became a home from home until
we all got barred. Then moved on to the Apollo
before getting married and settling down in the early
80s Still living in the Harrow area but not sure how
much longer for. I now realise what General Custer
felt like at the Battle of the little big horn, us
native Harrovians are definitely in the minority! Not
wanting to appear rascist but its hard not to be when
you've lived somewhere all your life and you see it
going to the dogs. Does anyone remember the Doctor
Marten shop at West Harrow station or Kildas Cafe? What
was the name of the second hand shop in Kildas Road?
What about the chip shop in Angel Road?
