A massive castle fortress looms in the northernmost part of Ravenblack City. Its walls are made of thick blocks of granite, and ugly spikes, rudely sharpened but functional, stick out at measured intervals. A signal fire blazes strong in the tallest of the towers.
Right beside the huge Keep doors is planted a spike with a gruesome, half-rotting head at the top. Larger than human, its jaw slumps awkwardly, half-supported by the rude spike. The black hair falls down, matted in braids, to gently brush the white snow, marking it rusty-red.
Drawing closer, words are discovered engraved on a thick granite block that sits near the gate:
Am I not pre-eminent in the field of blood?
I have a hundred shares of the spoil.
My wreath is of red jewels,
Of gold is the border of my shield.
From behind the massive oak and steel gate-doors, calls out a voice: "Welcome to Heorot, brave sword-thane. Are you here to pledge your blade?"
"This is House Heorot, the castle-keep of a clan of Ravenblack City. If you wish entry, you must talk to the Lady of the Keep. Find her and she may just grant you entry."
