Hello there,
I would like your opinion.  I am contesting a charge for council tax.  Being a house wife for many years my husband was in charge of paying council tax. He left the country due to some unfortunate circumstances and did not return.  All this while there was a lot of trauma and confusion due to my husbands circumstances.  i explained the situation to the council but they are still insisting on charging me for the period EVEN THOUGH i was not working and was in too much confusion about my husbands circumstances to inform them during that period. How can i challenge the council?
