There was an intent to represent the class divide, but I think I
should have put an Imperial Navy - Bridge Officer exit in the Petty
Officer career as well. The division of Imperial Navy Officers into
Bridge and Petty came along fairly late on during writing, after I
read Gordon Rennie's 'Shadow Point' novel, where the divide between
different types of officer was made pretty obvious.
So yeah, add in Imperial Navy - Bridge Officer as one of the career
exits for Petty Officer.
And the only way to become an Imperial Navy Master of the Ship via
Spacer is to become a Rogue Trader first, which involves having your
own starship, astropath, navigator and crew. But yes, I see your
point about Bridge Officer being hard to get to.
I'd say change the Spacer - Captain's 'Petty Officer' career exit
to 'Bridge Officer'. I can't remember if that's a typo or not, but
it seems likely.
