Whoops. What I meant to say, in terms of the "ease" of getting into
Master of the Ship via Rogue Trader, is that in a game populated by
roving, ambitious, responsibility-hating gamers like the majority that
I've met, the aquisition of a starship(and the freedom and mobility it
conferrs) is more likely to be a requested element than, say,
rulership over the half a continent or so required in order to attain
the trappings for the Baron career, the other notable path into
Imperial Navy command.
As far as the class divide between enlisted men and officers, I agree
with the strict divide. On further reflection, I suppose what I'd like
to see is either an entance into Bridge Officer from a lower rank of
nobility, or some sort of Midshipman or Naval Cadet career.
Any thoughts?
