True, but they aren't compulsory archetypes. They're just alternatives
to playing an Inquisitor and his or her retinue.

Imperium would work just as well for Inquisitorial games if I deleted
rules for PC Citizen careers, but you couldn't run a game about
colonists starting up a new life on a recently discovered world.

Even the great and godly (even if I do say so myself) Imperium RPG
isn't 100% comprehensive. As many have pointed out, there's no
support for playing aliens, and not even stats for alien weaponry
(even the shuriken catapults are inferior Imperial imitations of the
original eldar designs).

The only aliens in the bestiary are Genestealers, which were picked
because they are parasitic to Imperial society, rather than an alien
invasion force.

I'm waiting to see what happens with 40KRP (which appears to be the
official abbreviation) before making too many judgements. I'm hopeful,
based on Green Ronin's handling of the WFRP licence, and slightly
celebratory at the moment, but not blindly fanboyish (at least, no
more fanboyish than I am about WFRP).

I suppose any 40k roleplay game will only be as successful as the back history and knowledge of the players participating. Another important factor is actually...
