Simon,
Please could you update my profile on your site to reflect that my
student status was achieved in 1990, which is roughly when I left
the programme. (I know it's only a minor point but I know you're
searching for historical accuracy here).
My telephonic debut on the Hallam FM shows started in 1994 after a
chance encounter when I was retuning my radio in the dark to get
away from James Whale's nightmare programme.
My feet once appeared on James Whale's TV show; I am not proud of
the disloyalty: Whale is one tenth of the broadcaster that James H
Reeve is. And the programme I attended was rubbish - the most
famous guest was Burt Kwouk.
I am trying to find the time to make available some of my archives,
but it is terribly difficult trying to hold down a full time life
and get this all encoded to RealPlayer files or what have you.

PS Wasn't Sam Pearce from Rochdale?
PPS Are you aware that James H Reeve is at least 20% responsible for
the subsequent rise to fame of Dale Winton? I like to think that my
post-student contributions to the Hallam FM show, some of which
focussed on the Supermarket Sweep programme, prompted James to
pursue the interview which made Winton a star today...
