I have managed to catch some of the programme - 11-2am on Sunday and last
night 1-2am... was entertaining... it is funny how James and Allan Beswick
share the same style these days - I don't remember that being the case back
in 1986/7 !

Also, I was listening to the radio on Saturday afternoon and who did I
hear... James H commentating on Manchester City v Fulham on Piccadilly 1152
or whatever it is called now... he sounded much more excited at the football
that he did on the stannage programme.

I think it is a shame that James H is on instead of Stannage as the majority
of people listening are diehard Stannage fans, who seem to find James H's
style less than satisfactory. Stannage is the sort of person that you can
only listen to if you like him, and they get very distressed when he is not
on... I remember we used to do the same when James H went on holiday to be
replaced by Anthony Shaeffer and other replacements - they were good in
their own right, but not as a replacement for your favourite.
