Hi Steve,
I can make IT things happen basically. My early background is in
programming but I've been producing web sites for over ten years. These
days I produce websites only for my own businesses, not for others, and
I run a couple of online shops (HYPERLINK
"http://www.alcoholfree.co.uk"www.alcoholfree.co.uk for instance).
To put it into context, when I was suggesting James did a website with
online audio it was in 2001 when things were a bit harder to do then
they are now. At the time my company had a CMS (content management
system) which I was offering to James for free. This would have enabled
him to produce a web site without any technical know-how. Things are
certainly easier now, but I'm guessing someone like James would still
need someone to help on the technical side of things.
John

Hmm, it seems the podcast idea has occurred to a good few of us,
then (see my last message).
I guess it's a no-brainer, really, isn't it? James would be free
from the constraints of station bosses and producers who don't seem
to realise that less is more.
JHR wouldn't even need a claque like Ricky Gervais. I imagine it
would be more of a "JHR speaks to the nation" type-thingy.
BTW: When you say "offer of help" what exactly are you offering? Are
you: an entertainer? studio boffin? Jaffa Cake wrangler? I think Roy
from Hyde would make a good guest.
