i've just discovered this group. Fantastic.
I'm not the only person who remembers James Hengist Reeve, his
assistant Huckvale, Zoltan, the word temerity, his hatred of Elvis,
Samuel Pearce from Royton, the bouncy bed. Its all coming back to me.
I do feel a bit of a lightweight though, i only ever wrote 2 letters
in to the show. they both got read out though. I used the
pseudonym 'the Ghost of Roger Day' and got Jim to play Depeche Mode.
I started listening to Jim back in 1986 during the mexico 86 world
cup. I remember him being mysteriously taken off air during the 1987
general election.
He used to do bits on Granada reports too if i remember.
