I've uploaded another clip, this time from a Two Ronnies episode in
which Janet played a farmer's wife. Apologies for the poor quality,
but it's better than nothing!

I've recently purchased my first digital camera (Canon A40) and I
used its video-clip function. That is, I simply held the camera in
front of the TV screen! Hence the banding an flickering. I also had
to use it in low-resolution mode to be able to fit in approx. 30
seconds, otherwise the picture quality could have been a bit better
for a very short (10 seconds) clip.

I also have footage on VHS of Janet in the Two Ronnies Show, so I'll
see about getting a clip of that too.

I have just uploaded an AVI clip from one of the M & W shows. The
picture quality is very poor (although you can hear her voice nice
and clearly), so I've also added 3 stills from the same show, to the
photos section (album name is "Blue Suit").

Regards to all :)

I have been lucky enough to procure a copy of the Frankie Howerd
series "Whoops Baghdad". There is one episode in which Janet appears
as a slave for sale. Her character name was Gigantima and she is
described as Miss Greater London! There are two or three scenes in
which she appears and she looks excellent. Watch out for it in case
it gets repeated on UK Gold or somewhere. The actual episode is
called "A Cargo of Crumpet".

Good idea! But it would be easier to find with the full URL.

The answer, I feel quite sure, is that she died in 1983. I have seen
it documented as 1989, but that is not so. Strangely enough, I have
seen her year of birth given as 1937, which is also incorrect, as I
am certain that the gravestone would be correct and quite clearly
states 1930. I would think she was ill for some time prior to her
demise and my guess is that the last appearance was probably the 1979
Xmas show.

Have found a clip from a 1979 ATV Xmas Morecambe and Wise show. It is
now available in the files section here, you need Real Player to view
it. The size renders it a poor clip in terms of quality I am afraid,
but it shows Janet coming down and doing her thing. Again, in the
absence of anything better, I felt it was worth uploading it.
Hopefully, in the light of some previous experience of Yahoo, it will
work.

Hope you don't mind this one-off promotion.

I have started a group for users in the UK to suggest good places to
see big-breasted women.
For example if you know of a shop, pub etc where big-breasted woman
works let us know.

The group is breastsaroundtown

To quote from Graham McCann's M&W book:"...and Janet Webb, the well-
spoken woman with the generous (49-inch, in fact) embonpoint who
would brush Eric and Ernie unceremoniously aside at the end of each
show..."
Another interesting thing I learnt from that book is that Janet
actually appeared with Eric and Ernie way back in 1964 in their ATV
days. Some of those shows were shown earlier this year on BBC2 but I
didnt watch them because I didnt know she was in some of them! Janet
appeared in approx 30 M&W shows, including Xmas specials between 1969
and 1972.
Another one to watch out for, if it is ever repeated, is an episode
of "Whoops Baghdad" with Frankie Howerd which was called "A Cargo of
Crumpet". Janet had quite a big (sic.) part in that.

NB Oxford English Dictionary definition of embonpoint: plumpness.

i had a collection of articles about janet but unfortunately they
have been lost one of the articles included her measurements which i
copied onto the back of a picture i have of her fortunately i still
have it the picture is not in very good condition having been
unfolded so often but the measurements are still visable so

height 5ft 6in
bust 50
waist 34
hips 45

weight 14stone 4lbs for our us friends 14lbs = 1 stone

the picture is a black and white one she wearing her usual form
fitting shiny top and waist and hip but then the skirt part is floor
length pleated

another picture i remember was an advert for shelving or fixings and
she was sat on a shelf

Indeed, now we are ten! Hopefully more will join the congregation
shortly. I can recall a number of newspaper articles featuring Janet
during the early and mid-seventies; one that sticks in my mind was
during the hot pants fad, and Janet had donned a pair of very tight
pants - she had lovely thighs. Another article related to her getting
mugged whilst on holiday in the West Indies. But the best one of all
was a story about how she used to have her bras imported from the US,
and one package had been impounded by Customs because they were
suspicious of the description "frontal support"! She was often
described as "fat", but I feel that was not a particularly apt
adjective-certainly a bit overweight but amply proportioned would be
more fitting I feel. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to measurements?

added to the in memoriam album. Found them on a Thames TV website.
Unfortunately very small and lo-res, but on the basis that anything
is better than nothing, I have posted them anyway. I shall keep
looking for something more appetising........

The lovely janet is buried in Saint Pauls Church, Covent Garden,
London. You may be interested to know that the lucky man who was
married to our goddess was a guy called Charles Vorzanger, he was a
classical violinist. If I recall, they met on a golf course!

I was so pleased when I found this club, and although there is very
little activity, its good to know there are at least a couple of
other Janet fanatics out there. the amply-proportioned Ms. Webb has
had a strange hold over me ever since I first saw her in M&W in the
late sixties. I remember watching avidly for her appearances through
several series, heart racing in anticipation. She also appeared in a
few Two Ronnies sketches, and once on Tommy Cooper (being sawn in
half)and had film credits for A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To
The Forum and The Amorous Milkman. There seems to be precious little
available anywhere on her now, but the repeats of M&W are good. I
have about a dozen video clips of her M&W appearances but I have no
idea how to convert them to mpegs or get vid caps from, otherwise I'd
love to post something here.

of the show my most memorable memry is of her in a top hat and
leotard but none of the repeats have shown this one somewhere i have
her vital statistics .the pictures are wonderful and i do so agree

I just found this club by accident. I remember
with a great deal of fondness the lovely lady, and
still watch out for repeats on TV, etc. I got kinda
obsessed with Janet as a young man and I guess its never
gone away. Pity so few members and no posts here.
Anyone got any photos?
