Dear All,

Ian Paton-Smith and I will both be in Sharm El Sheikh at the same time this year, staying at the same hotel! Obviously, there is a slight chance we may be doing a spot of diving together

- WANNA COME AND JOIN US?????

We will be staying at the prestigeous 5-star Concorde El Salam Hotel near Sharks Bay, with some amazing diving right under our feet, and the island of Tiran is just a few miles to our left.

I can arrange very good value diving with Marina Divers, who are based at the hotel, as I often help them out as a dive guide when I stay there.

Ian is going for 1 week from 21-28 May, whilst Paula and I will be there from 17-31 May. Graham Jepson will also be with Ian, so this is definitely a Jesters expedition!
If you fancy some world-class reef diving in clear, warm water, then this is your chance!
Due to the variety of diving available, there is no restriction on diving grades - Ocean Divers are more than welcome.

Cost-wise, the hotel is a luxury all-inclusive affair (drinks included!), and expect to pay around £525 for a week (I'm paying £675 for 2 weeks!).

Let me know if you are interested....

Regards
Kev Ross

Guys.. Having finally treated myself to a cannon Ixus 65 and underwater
camera, I took it along to Capers last Dec to try it out. I have
finally got them off my camera and thought i'd share them with those
interested. For a first attempt I was surprised just how well they
turned out - the best have been put in album on Pics page.

It was a nice sunny day that helped with lighting, and all pics were
taken without using a flash - as those i did use flash on were a bit
naff. Just shows yer dont need an expensive camera set up to produce
some decent shots.

OK so theres Trout and nothing much else in there but yer gotta start
somewhere. I think the first pic turned out to be the best.

Karl..

Hi Ian,

I was down at the club last wednesday for a committee meeting and got
those who where there to sign at card on behalf of us all. I also took
some flowers in to the COCH and saw Kev, he is in a side room but very
tired. I'm sure if members are free during the day and co-ordinate with
Paula and the ward visits will be appreciated.

Having said that any cards will brighten up his room!

Andrea

ps hope this works lol

Hi All,

I'm off out with Scott and a gaggle of PADI divers on Sunday and there are (at time of sending this) three seats available on the boat. The PADI lot are mainly "advanced diver" but they do have a couple of "open water" diver's with them and will be diving accordingly. So Ocean Diver's and upwards if you fancy a trip out from Menai this Sunday please come back to me as soon as (with a mobile number if I haven't already got it) and I'll seee if I can book you in.

Hi all,

Wanted to arrange something over the eater weekend. Just some shore
diving, ill look up a suitable spot of anglesey.

Was thinking of good friday myself then we have the rest of the weekend
to relax.

I was also thinking that we could make it family day, partners and
children all welcome, and perhaps we could arrange some food etc...

If enough people are interested let me know and ill check tides etc.
Also if you would come out but prefer a different day let me know and
ill see how many want to do that.

Cheers

Hi Kath

Definitely up for diving that weekend.

If it's Friday then i'll have 3 kids in tow - so it's very much weather dependant and John and I will need to dive separately.

If it's Saturday then we're childless and we can both dive at the same time.

So i suppose Saturday is better for us... or possibly i could be "beach support" (chief butty maker) on the Friday.

Keep us informed.

Thanks
PJ & John

This is a great idea and I would love to bring the family, but this means it weather dependant (ie must be warm and sunny) so let me know the date, if the weather is looking good we will be there.

Hi All,

I've been in touch with our friendly skipper and bunk house owner Iain. I've provisionaly booked all 12 seats on the boat and accomodation for the weekend 6th/7th October. It looks like we will only get the one weekend with him (for a big group that is, two/four diver parties should be okay all season) as he has bookings through the summer already.

For those who haven't been before we will be doing four dives in St Abbs marine park at between 15M to 25M with good visability (usually) and loads to see. The bunk house is clean, has a compressor, a drying room, unlimited hot water and a Scottish breakfast that lets you take 2Kilo off your weight belt on the second day, if you can hold on to it (eh Richard :-)).

Costs are;
                £50.00 for the diving
                £22.50 B&B
                £3.00 a fill for air

There are 12 places available on a first come first served basis so could you please let me know asap if your interested. Deposits of £15.00 each will be required in the next month or so to send up to Iain.

See you all soon

Andy

I've just had a chat with Iain and he now has the whole boat available for the weekend 2nd/3rd June too if we want it. Same deal as the previous email so if your interested let me know (he's holding it until the middle of next week before accepting other bookings) ASAP.
