Hi kaffequeeria I'm setting up some shows for the simply awesome ILL EASE
- the one woman art rock band of multi instrumentalist Elizabeth Sharp
(New Radinat Storm King)over to promote her new EP. "Miami and The Seige
of Chicago"
I'd would love to add a Manchester date particularly if Kaffequeeria are
involved. best date would be May 29 or Jun1 although can do other dates.
Liz's sick grooves feature drums/vox/guitar/loopstation/samples its a one
peice that sounds like a five piece.
Dates available May 6 - June 10 - (see current availability below)
We're looking for both headline shows and killer support slots.
Press information and links to mp3 and video footage are below. CD's
available upon request.
let me know if you are interested

dryly skewed urban narratives.'ť Kerrang KKKK

"Deep, circular grooves like a moldy peach playing patty-cake with can.
Bad times never seemed so good."

"Addictive, rhythm-heavy compositions infused with slippery vocals and
weaving guitars ... Sharp's songs achieve maximum bump and grind"
- Magnet
"Filled with sly beats and overdubbed vocals, Ill Ease makes slick rock
music that sexily slip and trips on itself.... Musically catchy and
lyrically intriguing, layered enough to delight and confound"

Brooklyn New York’s Ill Ease is the solo band of multi instrumentalist
Elizabeth Sharp. After playing drums in New Radiant Storm King for 5
years. Sharp decided to go it alone in 1998 recording three albums for the
Smilex label which brought her to the attention of Too Pure/Beggars Group.
Her first UK album release "The Exorcist" came out in 2004 and "The After
After Party Party" EP followed in 2005.
The Ill Ease live show is a fun fuelled whirlwind of deconstructed guitar
riffs, bass loops and drum licks performed as one seamless set with one
song melting in to the next Like Ill Ease recordings, many songs in the
live performance begin with the drums, are built up with bass loops and
fragmented guitar riffs, and then fully animated by cityscape sound
collages, aka found sounds, like car horns and police sirens. Elizabeth
Sharp runs the Ill Ease show from her drum stool front of stage delivering
her unique slippery vocal style which crests over and contrasts with the
drums, guitar, bass, shaker, tambourine and everything else that rattles
and buzzes. Ill Ease manifest snippets of Chicagoan electric blues and
warped Rolling Stones b-sides all scratched and skipping to a New York
noise with a hip-hop beat. Sonic dissonance with recalcitrant vocal hooks
that won't go home. Woozy rhythms that won't stumble out until after
last call.
A one-piece that you’d swear was a 5 piece if you blurred your eyes.
