Believe it or not, someone has been brave enough to open a yarn shop
called Tricot in Scunthorpe, which stocks something other than nasty
scratchy acrylic and novelty yarn!
The shop has been open for 2 weeks, but due to the fact that I rarely
visit Scunthorpe (sorry, Scunthonians!), it could have been that I
wouldn't have discovered the shop for about a year if it hadn't been
for a friend who told me about it. For those who might be in the area,
it's in the shopping centre in central Scunthorpe (technically High St,
I think), very near the entrance to Scunthorpe Market. The lady who
runs it hasn't got a huge stock as yet but, amongst others, she's got
Debbie Bliss, Noro, and some very nice merino DK and 4-ply from King
Cole which I haven't seen before. She has (gasp) some sock yarn too!
She says she's willing to buy anything in that people want, and she's
also planning to run some knitting and crocheting classes. Tricot is
revolutionary for the Scunthorpe area, so I think it should be
supported as much as poss.
