Yes Andrew i'm probably going to get this. I like the look of it,
although there has been some criticism of the playing pieces. I like
the looks of the mechanics for one thing. Its close to a tactical war
game in some respects and different to other WW2 games. I think George
was also interested. Game not out yet in UK, but coming soon.
Axis and Alies as one example is a strategy game played on the world
stage where you try to outbuild and outmanuever the opponent (takes 2-5
players who split the 5 nations - Germany and Japan v UK, USA and USSR
between them) - i'll bring it along to the club - might even get to
play for the first time in about 2 years! worth playing - but then i
would say that:)
Combat Commander is another WW2 game which looks good and George and
Marty have copies - this is a tactical game based on infantry and i'm
open to play that as well. It uses chits and cards rather than dice and
also has interesting mechanics from what i've read/seen.
