Lifeboats - Throw me overboard will you!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #296 of 607 |
Has anyone played Lifeboats, what a mean, nasty, meat grinding, evil
beast of a game. I have never played a session with a group of
players who wanted to throw my overboard every round, and they call
me friend.

Basically your ship has sunk and your crewmen are stranded of
lifeboat trying to make the nearest island before the boats sink.
Unfortunately the boats are starting to spring leaks and you must do
all you can to get the boats to the island before they sink.

However you're mean fellow players have to decide via a VOTE

a)Which boat springs a leak and if there is no room in the boat for
this leak then you have to throw someone overboard (in my game this
meant ME)

b)Next you vote which boat moves (not so bad they can't chuck me in
the sea this time)

c)And then you have to take one sailor out of a boat and then place
him in another boat with an empty slot or drown (wonder who drowned).
I hesitate to say this as the 2 games I have played the players (my
so called friends) decided I needed to swim allot is a great little
game.

But I will warn you this game could end friendships, and never play
it with a couple who hold hands (your on a looser)

Z-Man games version
Gameplay – 4/5
Components – 5/5
My BGG Rating – 8/10
