Talisman rant

Climbs onto soapbox..

Actually, I think this new Talisman is a naive attempt at revamping a
classic. Sure i've not played the new one, but i have played the old -
a lot. Sure the new one may have good art, but i would prefer to see
an attempt to update the mechanics rather than the art to shorten the
playing time and make the game more modern and dynamic. I liked the
old one for what its worth, but the new one needs to be in line with
current thinking on mechanics, eg that roll a die and move is
obsolete. Rondel anyone? Strategy cards?

rant over ..
