8 of us played, 2 teams of 4, on Sunday 26 October 2008, Game 10.
(Took an hour).

By the system of the highest-placed 2 present facing each other
as "captains", then getting team-mates automatically by league
position, it turned out to be:
StuartF, BobR, RichardB, Jean-FrancoisH versus JosepA, AndrewM,
MichalK, SandyE. ie., it involved top-of-table StuartF against 2nd
and 3rd JosepA and AndrewM - so something had to give!

An "unusual" game of it. Jean-FrancoisH, playing for the first time,
hit on a brilliant strategy (taking an earlier AllanM strategy to its
max conclusion ;) ).

Jean-FrancoisH, as a newbie at it, clearly spotted a perfect plan,
and played a strategically brilliant one-and-half turns, or, rather,
one turn and then one card of the next turn.

Cleverly spotting that his newbie approach might hamper his team-
mates (eg by shooting them!), he immediately jumped on to a conveyor
belt which took him immediately and unerringly to one of the very
rare board-triple-lasers. And then spun on the spot. He managed to
acquire 9 damage points in the very first turn. After that, he had
just the right card to spin again on the first card of the second
turn, to reach the 10 damage needed to die and leave the field clear
for his team-mates, brilliant! And it WORKED. He shared the win.

In lesser parts of the field, BobR and MichalK fought each other to a
standstill around BobR's team's flagbase, long enough for RichardB to
take a flag and plant it in the middle for victory for the team of
StuartF, BobR, Jean-FrancoisH and RichardB. StuartF, for once,
didn't contribute much, except take credit for encouraging his
underlings and sharing the win, doing down his two closest rivals in
the league.

Yep, it really IS a game of pure skill AND pure luck! Hilarious.
Everybody had a laugh.
