Assistant Professor Position

The Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the University
of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position in the
Science Education Program at the assistant professor level starting
August 16, 2006. We are seeking an individual with the following
qualifications: a doctoral degree in science education or closely
related field and a strong background in one of the sciences.
Teaching experience in science at the precollege level and/or science
education courses is preferred. The successful candidate should be
able (a) to teach elementary and middle school science instructional
methods courses, (b) to teach graduate level courses, (c) to advise
and recruit students in the undergraduate and graduate programs and
to chair doctoral committees, (d) to establish and maintain a record
of research scholarship, and (e) to seek external funding. Also, it
is preferred that the candidate be able to teach a course entitled
"Teaching Science to Students with Special Education Needs."

The Department encourages applications from individuals with a

all cultural, ethnic, language, and racial backgrounds and who have
the commitment to prepare science teachers and science educators to

Science Education Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Science
Education starting Fall 2006.

The Center for Science Education at Indiana State University seeks an
individual with a Ph.D. in Science Education and a B.S. or M.S. in
one of the sciences (preferably Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) where
the candidate will find a tenure home. Preference will be given to
candidates with K-12 teaching experience and evidence of scholarship
in science education. Competency with education technology and
experience with multi-cultural education are also desirable.
Responsibilities include teaching content and methods courses in B.S.
and M.S. programs in secondary, middle, and elementary science
education; supervision of field experiences; maintaining a record of
published research and external funding supporting science education
at ISU; and providing leadership that fosters collaboration among the
College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and K-12 schools.

Competitive startup package and salary depend on experience and
qualifications. Review of applications will begin January 3, 2006.
