Dear colleagues,

I've just joined the list and would like to invite you to take part
with your classes in a discussion with a scientist working in industry
- further details are below. It's part of the Xperimania project
(www.xperimania.net) that European Schoolnet
(www.europeanschoolnet.org) organises.

All the best,
Alexa Joyce

Online expert discussion: Sports and science
10 December 2007

Have you ever wondered about the fantastic results of athletes today?
Jumping higher than 6m? No problem with modern chemistry equipment.
If you are interested to learn about the role of chemistry in modern
sports equipment, register with your class to the next Xperimania chat.

On 10 December 2007 at 2 pm CET., Michel Caillibotte, DFS - Dow Fiber
Solutions - Global Brand Marketing Manager for Sportswear will visit
European Schoolnet as an online guest to chat with European schools.
He will answer their questions in English on the theme " Sports and
science: how the Olympic Games rely on petrochemistry".

Textile engineer, Michel Caillibotte, joined Dow Chemical in 2006 to
position Dow Xla(TM) as a successful and profitable ingredient brand
in swim and active wear. Michel worked previously for Decathlon,
France -- one of the largest global sports goods retailers -- first as
material development & sourcing manager then in charge of Apparel R&D.
He also collaborated with Adidas-Salomon as senior materials engineer
where he was actively involved in the 1994 Olympics, the 2006 Soccer,
and Adidas Climacool apparel.

Interested? Your school can register by sending an email to
xperimania@... with the subject "Xperimania chat".
