The papers presented at the Third International
Seminar on Misconceptions in the Learning of
Science and Mathematics (Cornell University,
1993) are on line in an archive at
http://www.mlrg.org/proc3abstracts.html Ther are
some really interesting and useful looking papers
in the list. I would recommend colleagues to
explore this archive, howeverŠ
Šalthough it is possible to readily download the
files, the original papers seem to have three
levels of processing - they have file extensions:
.dp.sit.hqx
The downloaded file is BinHex, which can readily
be converted to a stuffed file. This can be
unstuffed to give the .dp file
This however is not in a format that I seem to
have an application for. It seems the "A Common
Ground Viewer is needed to view the articles in
the Third Misconceptions Proceedings and some of
the other publications in our collection. These
MiniViewers are free." However, when I download
that software it is too out-of-date to work on my
machine (Mac Intel Core Due running OSX).
I think I have located the orignal softwate
source: "CommonGround.com and the Common Ground
Developer Network is currently undergoing a
website redesign to provide new services to our
new and existing customers. Please check back
again for future updates."
Does anyone know if there are current versions of
this application available for download?
Best wishes
Keith
