The possible re-opening of Wood Green pool in Banbury moved a step closer this week; the working party that has been investigating repair and running costs, recommended the complete refurbishment of the facility when reporting to the Environment and Community Committee of Cherwell's District Council.
Although this is good news, the pool will only be available for eight weeks for swimming, with the Cherwell Canoe Club using it for the remaining 44 weeks; so (as a swimmer) it is hard not to feel a sense of regret that the swimming has been constrained in this way and to hope, perhaps, for more leeway here.
