Hope on the horizon for Cleveland Baths   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2464 of 2565 |
The Cleveland Baths in Bath have been closed for 25 years, but hope is on the horizon for this historic pool.  The Prince's Regeneration Trust has pledged support and local businessman Trevor Osborne is also liaising with the Cleveland Pools Trust.

The predicted possible re-opening date is 2012 (in time for the Olympics?!).  It will certainly be an Olympic effort if these plans can come to fruition as the Cleveland Pools Trust have persevered through every obstacle, including a very unhelpful attitude from Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The Cabinet system in operation there, leaves it up to just one Councillor to decide on important issues like this - a system wide open to abuse of such power.
